Olowalu Town is a model for sustainable development in Hawaii. The Olowalu area was recently identified as an acceptable place for island growth by the Maui Planning Commission and Maui County General Plan Advisory Committee, mainly due to the sustainable planning concepts and grass roots support for this type of development. John Bendon has participated in the Olowalu Town planning and discussions from the charrette to present day.
